A gorgeous variety of Japanese maple, with a neat upright habit. Large, glossy, 5 lobed leaves of deep wine-red, turning shades of orange, yellow and scarlet in autumn. Deciduous. Best in a sunny, sheltered spot in any garden with good well drained soil. Responds well to pruning and shaping in late winter.
