Also known as Acer palmatum 'Sango-kaku'. A year-round beauty with spring leaves that are lime-green with red margins that turn green through summer and yellow through autumn. New growth is flame-pink. Vivid coral-red stems are a winter feature. Requires shelter. Prefers moist, well-drained soils. May suffer leaf scorch from excess sun, wind, and drought. Cold hardy and great for bonsai.
